"If you want to go fast, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together." - African Proverb This proverb reminds me of what the objective should be in every learning situation.  We can always go much further together.  This applies to our online collaboration and our face-to-face communication.

Estimation plays an enormous role in math!  According to a John's Hopkins study, the better a child is at estimating, the better they will be at math overall.  Estimation activities should always be encouraged no matter what age or how silly the activity!

I would consider myself to be a relational teacher.  A relational teacher is a teacher who connects with their students.  This connection lets the student know that they are important and gives them a nurtured feeling which fosters growth and development.  In my classroom, I always make an effort to connect with every student in order to create a sense of community and acceptance.
